Following Wednesday's loss to the Heat, Los Angeles is now 14-21. If you want, you can still assign blame for the team's current downward spiral. The front office merits a lot for a progression of insufficient moves going back years. LeBron needs to take responsibility for advocating for some of those moves. You might even include Darvin Ham's rotations or injuries. Now, it doesn't matter. The primary concern is, do the Lakers actually need to win while one of the game's untouched greats is on their program?

This is a query that James has implied subtly throughout the season, and he did so once more on Wednesday night.

James declared, "I'm a winner, and I want to win" following the defeat. Additionally, I want to win, give myself a chance to win, and continue competing for championships. My passion has always been that. Since I joined the league as an 18-year-old from Akron, Ohio, that has always been my goal.
